The Singers visit Cologne 2016


This Spring The Singers will be making their third visit to Cologne. A highlight of the visit will be Choral Vespers in Cologne Cathedral. The Singers will also be continuing their project to sing in all twelve Romanesque churches in Cologne and will be singing in St Ursula and St Kunibert for the first time.

This is the second concert by The Singers in their new rehearsal home. More information, and a downloadable programme, soon.

The music will include

  • Only in Sleep and Stars by Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds
  • some Shakespeare songs in settings by Matthew Harris
  • folk songs arranged by Whittaker, Vaughan Williams, Holst and John Byrt.

This event will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne and the Mayor of North Tyneside.

Admission £5 (children £2, but not suitable for children under 6) includes performance and afternoon tea. All welcome.
